It is never too late to be what you might have been.
— George Eliot (Mary Ann Evans)

We seem more likely to think of counselling as an option after a significant incident occurs in our lives. And don't get me wrong - that is a great time to seek out support. However, it is equally important to address those ongoing hurts and burdens that make day-to-day life heavier than it needs to be. Therapy offers a safe space to  talk about those pieces of your life that you wish looked different but are struggling to change on your own.

Here are some, but certainly not all, reasons that individuals choose to try counselling:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Relationship issues

  • Grief and loss (death, end of a relationship, etc.)

  • Addiction

  • Gender identity

  • Sexual orientation

  • Career dissatisfaction

  • Self-esteem issues

  • Mental health issues (OCD, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, etc.)

  • Life dissatisfaction

  • Stress management

  • PTSD/Trauma (domestic violence, sexual abuse, natural disaster, childhood abuse/neglect, etc.)

  • Body image issues

  • Self-harm

  • Systemic oppression

  • How to support a struggling loved one

If you have something that you hope to address in counselling but don't see it mentioned in the above list, please don't hesitate to contact me
